Beach days: hat, sunglasses, dry bag, waterproof phone pouch. Waterfalls & rivers: grippy water shoes, quick-dry shorts. Blue Mountains: a light sweater — it gets cool up high. Nights out: one smart-casual outfit; some restaurants have dress codes.
Leave camouflage clothing at home (restricted for civilians in Jamaica), and skip bulky snacks and toiletries if you're staying in a villa — you can have groceries delivered from Jamaica Online Shop or request villa stocking.
Bring a card plus small US notes for tips (see our tip calculator). Check JMD prices with the currency converter. A power bank is handy on long excursion days.
Avoid camouflage-print clothing (restricted for civilians), drones without permission, and anything you wouldn't want to lose on the beach.
Jamaica mostly uses 110V with US-style Type A/B sockets. Visitors from the UK and Europe will need an adapter.
Showers are more common May–June and September–November, with hurricane season officially June–November. Pack a light rain jacket.
